Meet Mrs. Fridley
What do school counselors do?
School counselors are educators licensed to address all students’ academic, career, personal, and social development needs. This is done through individual and group counseling, classroom lessons, teacher/staff/parent/community consultation, school-wide programs, and crisis intervention. What can students talk about and/or work on with Mrs. Fridley? I can help with many important topics and concerns such as:
How can students request to see Mrs. Fridley? Teachers and parents can refer a student by completing a referral. Students can request to talk to me through their parents, teachers, or by asking me directly. If my child talks to Mrs. Fridley, will I know? Every student who sees me does receive the privilege of confidentiality. However, I always encourage students to talk to their parents about any problems or struggles they are having, because the more people to help, the better! If there is a major concern or if anyone is ever being hurt, parents/guardians will absolutely be contacted. |
